Eyebrow pencil, Bobbi Brown gloss and more in what I bought today

In a recent Sephora purchase (yes, the one that got me to Rouge status if you read the post earlier this week) I re-upped some old stand-bys and also tried some new potential winners.

Here’s a snapshot of my shopping cart:

What I bought today 10-1

1. REN Frankincense revitalising Night Cream. This is on the Perfection List and has earned it’s place in my drawer as the best night cream around.

2. Ouidad Tress Effects. I have naturally wavy hair that I can blow dry with a diffuser and gel to get generally wavy curls. I have tried so many spray gels and texturixers but this Ouidad gel is the all-time best.

3. Anastasia Brow Wiz. This is a new product. I’m still using a brow pencil from about 5 years ago just because it’s not part of my daily routine. It’s drying out and falling apart and is well overdue for an upgrade. This Brow Wiz pencil is one of the highest rated brow tools on Sephora.com. Plus, it comes in a variety of colors.

4. Bobbi Brown High Shimmer Gloss in Black Ruby. If you’ve checked the Everyday Lipsticks page lately, you’ll know I love the High Shine gloss in Pink Sequin. For a more dramatic look, I’m interested to try Black Ruby!

5. Dr. Brandt Skincare Do Not Age. This was purchased with some Sephora points. I’m interested to give it a try and it could, at the very least, be a great little pot of cream to keep on my desk for dry skin touch ups.

What I bought today…trying new things!

In my most recent Sephora purchase, I needed a new leave-in conditioner, a new eye primer and a body lotion that was under 3.4 ounces for traveling.

Here’s what I bought…

8-16 purchase

1. Sachajuan Leave In Conditioner

2. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer, one of the highest-rated Sephora eye primers

3. Sephora brand super supreme body butter in 3.2 oz size

4. Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan oil, you know, just to see what all the fuss is about.

VIB Sephora Sale Purchase

With the 15% off VIB sale in progress, I had to take advantage and try a few new things. And then, once I started looking at the samples I could cash in some points to try, I ended up with a whole online shopping basket full of samples, minis and new products for less than $60.

Here’s what I think about that:

Score

And here’s a shot of my shopping cart:

Shopping basket 2

Here are the products and links to give them a try with me!

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat, one of the highest rated concealers on Sephora.com.

Bobbi Brown High Shimmer Gloss in Pink Sequin, which is advertised as a rose pink with gold pearl.

Sample size of Bobbi Brown Everything mascara, here’s a link to it from the Nordstrom beauty department, with free shipping and free returns, you could give the mascara a try without paying shipping.

Sample of Shiseido Bio-Performance Super Restoring Cream, I love Shiseido products and love their Bio-contour eye cream. I’m interested to try this. It says, “Excellent for all skin types, it features a patent-pending Bio-Restoring Complex to reduce furrows and unevenness, and promote elasticity and moisture retention.”

Sample of LaVanila Pure Vanilla. What’s not to like?

St. Tropez Tanning Essentials One Night Only body lotion. You know that for a quick glow, I love Tantilizer. Here’s a post on that.

That’s it! Get excited for some reviews of these products coming in the next few weeks!

Crazy cute beach totes

Before our trip to Mexico, I upgraded my beach bag from something that kind of resembled a cloth grocery bag to a real beach tote. After much research, I settled on the practical yet stylish Crocs beach tote for $40.

I loved it! It’s easy to clean, looks cute, it’s light weight and it’s cheap enough where you don’t feel bad if you throw sandy shoes in it or spill sunscreen on it. It was such a winner! So I know this post has nothing to do with beauty products, but I still wanted to share my favorite beach totes with you lovely ladies. 🙂 Plus, you DO have to have somewhere to put all the sunscreens, lipglosses and lotions you’ll take to the beach!

This woven tote is one of my favorites. For $143, it’s still not so expensive where you’d feel like you needed to protect it and it would be sure to get many compliments around the pool! JADEtribe beach bag for $143.

This gorgeous blue bag from the Catrinka project just looks like it was meant to be on the beach. I love the wavy print and nautical touches. $85 PLUS you are benefiting women in Uganda from a project called One Mango Tree who hand-made this beautiful bag.

I’ve always loved this shape for beach totes. It’s so fun, albeit maybe a little unwieldly. But when it’s going to spend most of its life sitting next to you while you sip a cocktail, who cares? Plus, this bag is a deal at $45 from L-atitude and comes in many other colors.

Isn’t this fun? A totally shimmering beach bag from Free People to hold all of your stuff! It’s ultra-stylish, really unique and fully lined to keep the sand from getting near your things. $98 from Free People.

Latest Sephora Purchase: Get Excited!

I was due for a fun-filled online Sephora shopping experience. I was really only looking for two things: a moisturizing face mist to take on an upcoming trip and a refill of my face cream. Both of these goals were accomplished…along with a few other purchases.

Here’s my shopping cart:

Sephora What I Bought Today

And here’s the rundown, click any of the links below to find the product and support this blog and the beauty reviews! Love you ladies! All links take you to Sephora where I purchased the product.

REN Vita-Mineral Day Cream is my daily moisturizer. It’s great in the Winter and is a nice balance of moisture without overdoing it. This will be my third bottle.

Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist is a new product I’m excited to try. I have a trip to the mountains coming up followed by a trip to the beach. Both environments are so hard on your skin and I think a pre-moisturizer spritzer and also using it as a daily “touch up” to my day cream is a good idea. Review definitely coming on this guy!

Billionaire Boyfriend is a test for me, hence the purchase of the roll on and not the whole bottle! I have a sample of Kate Walsh’s Boyfriend perfume and really really like it. It’s such a mix of cologne and perfume and smells great for a night out. Plus, it’s very strong so just a dab will do. I’m interested to see how Billionaire compares to the original!

The Dior Addict Lip Glow and LaVanila are two purchases in my search for a nice lip sunscreen. Of course, I’ll never get rid of my Jack Black balm, but I like that Dior adds some color. It could be a nice addition to my vacation makeup bag. We’ll see! Comparison of these two to come!

Sephora VIB sale: what I bought today

Today Sephora is starting their pre-hoilday  20% off VIB sale and if you live near a Sephora, you can take a friend, go shop in the and get a fun, free tote.

Unfortunately, I don’t need to re-up on any of my everyday products but since I still can’t pass up a Sephora sale, here’s what I purchased today.

Fresh Brown Sugar body spray, $38: Now THIS is an everyday product. Sweet, citrusy and easy to wear it’s a perfume that isn’t overpowering. Try the rollerball size if you don’t want to jump in with both feet on a purchase of the bottle.

Jack Black Lip Balm Quad, $25: I’d like to say I’m buying this for a gift, but I’m really not. This is my favorite lip balm. There is one in my purse, one in my bathroom, one on my desk and one I use every night before bed. So that’s 4 right? Yep, I need the quad set.

Laura Mercier 4-pack of sponges, $15: I haven’t tried a contoured sponge before

so I’m excited to give that a go.

NARS smudgeproof eyeshadow base, $24: I’ve been using the same lid primer for almost two years. I think I’m ready to give something else a try, particularly if it’s quicker to apply than the BareMinerals cream. Since this is a new product for me, review to come!

Okay, so I qualified for free shipping (Sephora offers free shipping for over $50) and my total came to $102. After entering the VIB 20% off code, my new total is $81!
